Through the Lupin ML ( http://amber.mcs.kent.edu/~erik/l3ml ) we were able to find out-through Dale-that Monkey Punch's intended anime projects are an anime version of the Musashi legend, with sci fi elements, and an anime adaptation of the "Seven Samurai". Also, Monkey Punch is still working on his manga adaptation of "1,001 Arabian Nights".

poi ho trovato questa pagina di yahoo.jp e quest'altra pagina, dove accanto a Musashi compare anche il nome "Monkey Punch", ma vai a capire quello che c'è scritto ...

mi sembra strano che si tratti di una serie tv tratta da un manga di Monkey Punch e si sia dato poco risalto alla notizia ...
tanto per cambiare, il sito di Monkey Punch è "under construction" da più di un anno ...

New Monky Punch anime "Musashi" hitting Japanese airwaves
From the Japanese fan site MoonPhase and translated by a variety of sources like Anime Nation, a new Monkey Punch anime called Musashi will be airing on the BS-i satellite TV network starting 2006 April 9. Digging a bit more has not revealed an official site for the series yet.

Oddly enough yes, MUSASHI was announced back in 2000 at the San Diego Comic Con, during the Monkey Punch panel in which he discussed the projects he was involved in. ( I video taped it) I beieve this was the one about the futuristic EDO Japan samurais or ninjas. oddly enough , his idea to animate the 7 SAMURAI did happen , however it seems  someone else stole his idea and got approval for it.

Ma il famoso "Mille e una notte" l'ha poi finito? Sembra che MP abbia fatto centomila cose nei primi 20 anni di carriera, per poi fermarsi di brutto negli ultimi 20. Va bene che sara' miliardario grazie a Lupin, ma, a maggior ragione e per riconoscenza, potrebbe anche riprendere in mano il suo UNICO personaggio di successo (almeno fuori dal Giappone), anche come regista andrebbe benissimo.

Ma il famoso "Mille e una notte" l'ha poi finito? ...

Cmq, non lo so ... le notizie su MP sono pochine, è come dici tu, le novità sono ferme a molti anni fa.

Su questa presunta nuova serie ho trovato questo sito che porta tutta la programmazione dei 13 episodi della serie MUSASHI attribuita a MP http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/912

Monkey Punch's latest series, Gun Musashi, began airing 9 April 2006 on Japanese satellite station BS-i. Not much official information appears to be available on the web at the moment. Monkey Punch rewrites the classic character Miyamoto Musashi; in this version, Musashi not only wields a sword but also a pair of pistols.
The basic plot revolves around Musashi romaing feudal Japan, specifically Osaka. A princess has been targeted by a demonic entity; it is up to Musashi, a fellow swordsman, and her faitful retainer to stop this menace. Musashi packs some special bullets to fight the supernatural enemies, but the others all possess some supernatural powers of their own.

This episode introduces us to the characters and the plot. Musashi shows off his skills against some thugs. In the capital of Osaka, a princess attempts to recruit Musashi to aid them through her faithful retainer. Musashi is not interested though, and the princess and her retainer must battle the demonic hordes of the series villain that night. The princess is kidnapped, but Musashi and a fellow swordsman manage to rescue her. And so it begins...

P.s.: da quel poco che si vede nelle sigle, che di norma dovrebbero essere i filmati migliori, piu' curati, perche' devono fare da biglietto da visita, la serie sembra poco animata quanto Cinderella Boy (possibile che dopo Lupin, Monkey Punch firmi sempre delle mezze schifezze?) Quest'anime non mi attira per nulla.

Si la sigla iniziale lascia intuire un prodotto di scarsissima qualita' 🙁
Avete notato il proiettile nel logo del titolo? Vi ricorda niente? ;D

Anche la canzone d'apertura fa proprio pietà, quanto l'animazione (e' difficile riuscire ad arrivare ai fasti di Lupin, ma almeno avvicinarsi sarebbe una cosa gradita).

e poi non è basata su un fumetto di MP; MP ha fatto il caracter design dei personaggi.
