E-mail addresses of 13,400 'Lupin the 3rd' newsletter members exposed
E-mail addresses of over 13,400 people receiving e-mail newsletters related to the popular Japanese animation "Lupin the Third" were accidentally sent out, sparking complaints from dozens of members, it has been learned.

TMS Entertainment, which produces the animation, said that the addresses of 13,436 people had accidentally been sent out.

As of Monday evening, about 150 complaints had been received from members, including some who said spam had been sent to them as a result.

Officials said the addresses were sent at about 2 a.m. on June 2, as a result of an error by Web site operating firm PRO. The data did not include the postal addresses or names of the members.

TMS Entertainment sent an e-mail apology to members at about 4 a.m. the same day, informing them of the error. The firm said it planned to temporarily close the "Lupin the 3rd" Web page. (Mainichi)
